Novak Djokovic Wins Record-Equaling 24th Grand Slam Title at US Open

The Serbian superstar defeated Daniil Medvedev in a punishing final to match Rafael Nadal's record.

Djokovic's 24th Grand Slam title cements his status as one of the greatest men's tennis players of all time.

Novak Djokovic has won his fourth US Open title and record-equaling 24th Grand Slam title after defeating Daniil Medvedev in a punishing final in New York.

The 35-year-old Serbian, seeded sixth, battled past Medvedev 6-4 6-4 6-4 to match Rafael Nadal's record for the most men's Grand Slam singles titles.

Djokovic has now won 21 of the past 30 Grand Slams, with his last defeat in a major final coming at the French Open in June 2021.

Djokovic's US Open Triumph

Djokovic's victory at the US Open was his fourth title at Flushing Meadows, and his first since 2018.

He had not dropped a single set in his previous six matches at this year's tournament, and he was in dominant form again against Medvedev.

Djokovic broke Medvedev's serve twice in the first set, and twice again in the second set, to take a commanding 2-0 lead.

Medvedev fought back in the third set, breaking Djokovic's serve to take a 4-2 lead.

However, Djokovic broke back immediately, and he went on to win the next two games to seal the victory.

Djokovic's Record-Breaking Career

Djokovic's victory at the US Open is the latest in a remarkable career.

He has now won 88 ATP singles titles, including 24 Grand Slams, five ATP Finals titles, and 38 Masters 1000 titles.

He is also the only player to have won all four Grand Slams, the ATP Finals, and all nine Masters 1000 titles.

Djokovic is widely regarded as one of the greatest men's tennis players of all time, and his record-breaking career is still ongoing.
